Tips
Check-In savvy - Allegiant Air closes its ticket counter 40 minutes prior to scheduled departures. If you have not checked in by this time, you will not be allowed to board your flight.
Plan to arrive at the ticket counter no less than 90-120 minutes prior to your scheduled departure for a domestic flight (120 minutes for international flight).
Military Personnel
Immediate family members are welcome to accompany you through security screening to the gate area to await the departure of your flight. In order for this to occur smoothly, please have the following items when you arrive at the airport:
- Your military orders
- Photo ID for each family member over the age of 18
When you arrive at the ticket counter, please ask the ticket agent for a gate pass for each of your immediate family members who will accompany you to the gate area (this includes young children). The gate pass(es) will grant them permission to pass through the TSA security screening and into the sterile area of the terminal.
Pet-relief areas: there is a pet relief area outside on the west end of the terminal building where we suggest owners take their animals before departing.
Remember: Using a TSA-approved lock ensures that your baggage can be checked by TSA baggage screeners without damage to your locks. TSA-approved locks are available for purchase at the News & Gift shop in the main hall at GFIA.

The airport entrance is located at the intersection of 44th Street SE and Patterson Avenue.
INTERSTATE 96
Motorists may take exit 46 for westbound M-6, exit 44 for westbound 36th Street, or exit 43A for westbound 28th Street. From exit 46, proceed west on M-6 to exit 15. Proceed north on M-37 and watch for signs for northbound Patterson Avenue. Take Patterson Avenue north to the airport entrance at 44th Street. Proceed east on 44th Street to the airport passenger terminal facility and parking facilities.
From exit 44 proceed west on 36th Street to Patterson Avenue (1 mile), turn left, and proceed south to the airport entrance at 44th Street. Proceed east on 44th Street to the airport passenger terminal facility and parking facilities.
From exit 43A, proceed west on 28th Street to Patterson Avenue (1/2 mile), turn left, and proceed south to the airport entrance at 44th Street. Proceed east on 44th Street to the airport passenger terminal facility and parking facilities.
U.S. 131
Motorists may either take exit 89A for Interstate 96 east (if coming from the north) or take exit 77 for M-6 east (if coming from the south). From exit 89A, take Interstate 96 east to exit 43A for westbound 28th Street. Proceed west on 28th Street to Patterson Avenue (1/2 mile), turn left, and proceed south to the airport entrance at 44th Street. Proceed east on 44th Street to the airport passenger terminal facility and parking facilities.
From exit 77 proceed east on M-6 to exit 15. Proceed north on M-37 and watch for signs for northbound Patterson Avenue. Take Patterson Avenue north to the airport entrance at 44th Street. Proceed east on 44th Street to the airport passenger terminal facility and parking facilities.

Motorists may take exit 64 for westbound M-6 and proceed east on M-6 to exit 15. Proceed north on M-37 and watch for signs for northbound Patterson Avenue. Take Patterson Avenue north to the airport entrance at 44th Street. Proceed east on 44th Street to the airport passenger terminal facility and parking facilities.
M-37
Motorists traveling south may take M-37 to 44th Street. Follow the signs for the indirect left turn onto eastbound 44th Street. Take 44th Street east to the airport entrance at Patterson Avenue. Motorists traveling north should proceed north on M-37 and watch for signs for northbound Patterson Avenue. Take Patterson Avenue north to the airport entrance at 44th Street. Proceed east on 44th Street to the airport passenger terminal facility and parking facilities.
