Our Approach

Miami, Florida

Miami is hot hot hot! And it's not just the sultry weather.

Here, the nightlife is scorching, thanks to a strong Latin influence and spicy salsa culture. Dance the noche away in a nightclub, or indulge in a fancy meal at one of the city's celebrity-owned restaurants.

By day, hit the beach of course, or have yourself a walkabout, taking in Miami's colorful art deco architecture. Grab a Cuban sandwich in Little Havana, then ride the vintage carousel at Virginia Key Beach Park.

Our Story

St. Thomas, US Virgin Islands

St. Thomas is the gateway isle of the U.S. Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. It's known for its beaches and snorkeling spots. Territorial capital Charlotte Amalie, founded by the Danish in the 1600s, is a busy cruise-ship port. Historic buildings include a 1679 watchtower called Blackbeard's Castle, in reference to the area's pirate history. On the harbor, 17th-century Fort Christian is now a local-history museum.

Our Approach

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Tortola is the largest of the British Virgin Islands in the Caribbean. It features several white-sand beaches, including Cane Garden Bay and Smuggler's Cove. Road Town, the capital of the British Virgin Islands, has a harbor dotted with sailing boats and is known as a yachting hub. In the island's southwest, forested Sage Mountain National Park offers trails and sweeping views over neighboring cays.

Our Story

Nassau, Bahamas

Nassau is the capital of the Bahamas. It lies on the island of New Providence, with neighboring Paradise Island accessible via Nassau Harbor bridges. A popular cruise-ship stop, the city has a hilly landscape and is known for beaches as well as its offshore coral reefs, popular for diving and snorkeling. It retains many of its typical pastel-colored British colonial buildings, like the pink-hued Government House.

Think about adding 1 or 2 Days in Miami

You would rather commence your cruise stress-free.

Imagine the feeling of missing a train or a flight let alone your seven-day cruise vacation. Even if you don't hit traffic, flight delays or a plague of other travel complications, watching the clock until you step foot on the gangway is not a relaxing way to kick off your trip.

Don't start your cruise panicking about missing the ship when your flight is delayed or canceled. If you're flying, arrange to arrive in your port city one or two evenings before, and start your vacation with a nice dinner and leisurely breakfast before heading to the terminal.  In general, leave plenty of wiggle room in your itinerary.

Even Cruise Critic members in the airline industry have weighed in. "As a former flight attendant for 22 years, I can't count how many times I saw passengers miss cruise ships on embarkation day!" commented Lynn. Well worth the expense of arriving a day early and seeing a bit of the port city.

If you leave home with exactly enough time to get to the port for the tail end of embarkation, you're asking for trouble.
